The Uganda Society of Professional Chemists (USPC) is a National Organization uniting
practitioners, students, researchers, and enthusiasts in the chemical sciences in Uganda.
The USPC was founded in January 2010 by ten founder members that had the same mission
and vision. USPC’s main objective is to advance the Chemistry profession in contribution to the
advancement of the common good.
Apart from being fully registered, the Society operates according to an official constitution and members adhere to a code of professional conduct established by the Society. USPC currently has over 200 registered members that include students, university lecturers and researchers as well as chemistry graduates and practitioners.
To undertake, encourage and promote public
education and research in Chemistry and
related disciplines, and to produce, print and
publish any scientific or other data in
written, oral, visual or electronic media in
furtherance of its objects
To promote the professional interests, rights, powers and privileges of Chemists in Uganda
To collect, store, analyze and interpret scientific data relating to the science and practice of Chemistry with a view to monitor developments and identify particular concerns for the benefit of professional chemists and the general public.
